Williams, Esq., on his appointment as a Judge of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands. Commissioner Williams’ appointment reflects his longstanding commitment to public service, integrity, and the rule of law. During his tenure with the Commission, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, sound judgment, and a deep dedication to fairness and accountability in utility regulation on behalf of the people of the Virgin Islands. Williams brings nearly 40 years of legal experience spanning public service and private practice. His early career included service as counsel to Virgin Islands Delegate to Congress Ron de Lugo, where he drafted legislation and worked on federal and territorial matters, and later as counsel to the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Program at the Department of Planning and Natural Resources. In private practice, Williams has handled criminal, commercial, family, personal injury, and real estate matters and has served in multiple leadership roles across several law firms. Judge Williams’ appointment to the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands is a proud moment for the Commission and a reflection of his lifelong commitment to service, integrity, and justice. His leadership as a member of the Commission and as its Chairman was marked by sound judgment, fairness, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people of the Virgin Islands. We congratulate him on this well-deserved appointment and are confident he will serve the Territory with distinction on the bench,” said Sandra L.
