NOTICE. Owing to certain change= required in the Ice Factory, one of the plants must be taken to pieces, and during the course of the work which may occupy one month, it will be impossible 0 fur- nish more than half the present output of ice from Monday the 13th. instant. Patrons will be able to secure the half of their customary supply at the necessarily advanced rate of 2 cents a pound. Dr. Arthur Goetsc::, who has lately been in charge of the Marinc Hospital and for some time =lso in charge of the Municipal Hospitals of Christiansted and Frederiks'ed, is leav- ing us by the S'S Guiana, for his home in San Francisco, Cal., stopping en route to pay a visit to his brother Dr. Emil | Goetsh, Professor of Surgery in the Col- | lege Hospital, Long (sland, New York. , Dr. Goetsch is a graduate of the Uni- | versity of Chicago, and served in the | Navy for two and a half years, first on | the Reserve and later transferred to : the Regulars. | Two months ago, the Doctor sent in | his resignation, which has now been ac- S .UtX AN LS ceptec. and though we are sorry o lose such an able medical man fron: this is- land, vet we must wisk him a brilliant future wherever he gces. Through his courteous manner, and self- sacrificing nature, he has made friends of ‘the entire com munity, and he goes leaving behind him a record to be envied by many men of hie profession What is rincivally 1o be ad aiced in him apart from his unequalied skill, 1¢ his humble- ness. and tender manners in dealing with poor patients. His mission has in- deed been one of love, where his first consideration was to help the suffering, even at the expense of making many personal sccrifices. He called it his duty. but we call it love of humanity. Dr. Goetsch intends finally to affiliate himself with his brother in the practice of medicine in the city of Brooklyn, which will take place after visiting his friends in his home in San Francisco.
