Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands Approving materials and agreements to be submitted to the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands, pursuant to an earlier Resolution of the Board to develop a medical school, has been preparing materials and agreements to be submitted to the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) in order to apply for accreditation. WHEREAS, the deadline for submission of the documents and agreements is December 1, 2014, if the University is to open the medical school in the Fall of 2016. WHEREAS, LCME requires that certain documents and agreements be approved by the Board of Trustees of the University. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY: That the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands hereby approves for submission to LCME the following documents:  University of the Virgin Islands School of Medicine Introduction and Overview  Bylaws  Diversity Policy  Operating Policies and Procedures  Affiliation Agreements: o University of Central Florida – curriculum, assessment tools, faculty development, licensure and payment schedule o University of South Florida – clinical training rotations – 4th year Tampa General Hospital o University of South Florida – Professional Advisory and Training Services – management and development simulation center o University of South Florida – Academic Affiliation Agreement o Schneider Regional Medical Center – clinical training o Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center – clinical training CERTIFICATION The Undersigned does hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of a resolution approved by the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands at a meeting on November 17, 2014 as recorded in the minutes of that meeting.
