ACT NO.6596 BILL NO. 25-0065 TWENTY-FIFTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2003 To name the new Cancer Center at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital and Community Health C enter in honor of Mrs. Charlotte Kimelman in recognition o f her outstanding service and contributions to the people of the Virgin Islands ---()--- WHEREAS, Charlotte Kimelman was born in New York where she received her primary and secondary education; and WHEREAS, Charlotte Kimelman matriculated at Adelphi College of New York, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree (cum laude) in Pre-Medicine; and WHEREAS, in 1943 Charlotte Kimelman married Lt. JG Henry L. Kimelman, and from this union, three children were born: Susan, Donald and John; WHEREAS, the Kimelman family moved to St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands in 1950; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Kimelman served on the Board of Directors of the Virgin Isle Hotel and the West Indies Corporation; and WHEREAS, from 1977 to 1980, Mrs. Kimelman served as President of West Indies Corporation, and , 7 WHEREAS, Mrs. …
