ACT NO, 7842 BILL NO. 31-0084 THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2016 An Act amending title 20 Virgin Islands Code, part II, chapter 43, sections 494 and 512 pertaining to speeding, setting double fines for speeding in a work zone on-Qeee Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 20 Virgin Islands Code, part II, is amended in the following instances: (a). Section 494, subsection (a) is amended by (1) designating all of the language after the phrase “at a” as paragraph (1) and at the end of the sentence after “existing” by inserting the following: “, or (2) drive a motor vehicle on a public street or highway where road work is being performed at a speed greater than that posted on the road work sign’; and (2) inserting a new sentence after the first sentences to read as follows: “Upon approaching a road work sign, the driver shall reduce the vehicle’s speed to the speed limit posted on the road work sign.” (b). …
