Act No. 6279 (BILL NO. 23-0030) (Approved May 14, 1999) To amend Title 19, Chapter 16, Virgin Islands Code to provide for the semiautonomous administration of the V.I. Government Hospitals and Health Facilities and for other purposes Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 19, Chapter 16, Virgin Islands Code is amended in the following instances: 1. Section 242, subsection (e) is amended by striking all the language after "system", up to the semi-colon. 2. (a) Section 243, subsection (b) is amended by striking the second and third sentences thereof. (b) Section 243, subsection (g) is amended by striking the following three sentences: "Three years after the date of enactment of the act creating the corporation, the District Governing Boards shall dissolve unless, by two-thirds vote of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, or by two-thirds vote of either District Board, their existence is continued. Such continuance shall be for two years and may be reaffirmed for each subsequent two-year period. …
