Navy, arrived at Christian- sted, St. Croix on Monday on the U, S. S. (irebe and will in the near future take over the duties of Despatching Secretary, Mrs. Barrett arrived on the U. S. S. (irebe yesterday. lievtenant Barrett has had long ex- perience in the work of the Supply Corps of the Navy and is considered well quali- fied to discharge the duties that he has been sent here to perform. He came here {rom the Nava!l Operating Base, Hampion Roads, Va., where he had been on duty for two and a half years. Moscow, May 19ih. —A Russian Soviet note sent by Foreign Minister Tehiicherin to the Swiss Government holds rhat Gov- ernment responsible for the recent as- sassination at Lausanne of M. Voresky, Soviet representative there, throush toe alleged negligence of the Swiss officials to guard him. M. Tehitcherin’s note asks for an investigation of the eircu:m- stances of the crime, the dismissil of the employees itcharges with negligence and a prompt and speedy trial of the assassin. The note also protests at the refusal of the Swiss to grant diplomatic courter privileges to the Russian deleca- tion at Lausanne. The wreek delegation issued an official declaration insisiing on reciprocal renunciation by Greece and Turkey of all reparations claims. M. Venezelos hezd of the Greek delegation, is regarded by the dejegates to the con- forence as having thus played a card which is calculated to embarrass the Allies by forcing them to support the Greek stand, as the Aliies had originally include? in the peace treaty this mutual renpinciation.
