ACT NO. 68209 BILL NO. 26-0216 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Scssion 2006 An Act amending Act No. 6760, “The Rate Reduction, Job Creation and Economic Stimulus Act of 2008” ---0--- WHEREAS, on September 19, 2005, Act No. 6760, was signed into law on September 19, 2005, which required the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority to cominence the issuance of a Request for Proposals for the purchase of renewable and alternative energy; and : WHERFAS, the Act further required that the Authority evaluate and select proposals in accordance with the evaluation criteria contained in the Act; and negotiate and submit a power purchase agreement to the Public Services Commission (“PSC”) for consideration within 150 days aller enactment of the legislation; and WHEREAS, on September 30, 2005, the Authorily issued a Request for Proposals for the sale of electric energy, ancillary services and/or potable water, with a proposals due date of November 30, 2005; and WHEREAS, the Authority selected a proponent in accordance with the criteria set forth in the Act and commenced ne …
