November 3 U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS— Government House is deeply saddened to announce the funeral arrangements for the late Director Daryl A. “Mousy” George of the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Director George, a dedicated public servant and esteemed community member, will be honored with a series of ceremonies to celebrate his life and contributions. Candlelight Vigils: 1. A candlelight vigil in memory of Director George will occur on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. The vigil will be held at the Charles A. Seales Fire Station Annex in Estate Grove Place, St. Croix. 2. On Thursday, November 16, 2023, another candlelight vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. in memory of Director George. The venue for this vigil is the Omar Brown, Sr. Fire Station in St. Thomas, located across from Barbel Plaza. Lying in State: Director Daryl George will lie in state at the Omar Brown, Sr. Fire Station on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for friends, colleagues, and community members to pay their respects. Funeral Services: The funeral services to honor Director George will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Omar Brown, Sr. Fire Station. The schedule for the funeral services are as follows: – Viewing: 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. – Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment: Following the funeral service, the interment will take place immediately at Western Cemetery #1. Repast: A repast in honor of Director Daryl A. “Mousy” George will be hosted at Joe’s Hot Spot, located across from Property and Procurement. Government House extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Director Daryl George. His dedication and service to the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services will be remembered and cherished by all. We invite the community to join us in these solemn ceremonies to celebrate his life and legacy.
