ACT NO. 7378 BILL NO. 29-0309 TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2012 An Act amending title 3, chapter 7, section 97 of the Virgin Islands Code by instituting staggered terms for members of the Virgin Islands Board of Education and reinstating a residency requirement; amending title 17, chapter 15, section 190(c) of the Virgin Islands Code by authorizing the Chairman of the Virgin Islands Board of Education to appoint a designee to the Morris F. de Castro fellowship Award and the Virgin Islands Public Television System; and amending chapter 15 of title 17 of the Virgin Islands Code to provide that a vendor number is not required for the board of education to process a recipient’s scholarship, grant or loan ---0--- WHEREAS, continuity is essential to the efficient and effective operation of the Virgin Islands Board of Education; and WHEREAS, a higher level of continuity can be achieved by instituting staggered terms for members of the Virgin Islands Board of Education; and WHEREAS, the unique interests of the Virgin Islands Board of Education are best repre …
