(809) 793-6555 *64750* 64750 MONTHLY PROGRESS REPORT NO. 22 January 12, 1994 RE: Administrative Order on Consent Index No. II - RCRA - Proceeding 7003 & 9003-92-0401 This status report includes the work performed during the period from December 1 through December 31, 1993. WORK COMPLETED DURING PREVIOUS MONTH Preparation and distribution of the draft Phase II Remedial Investigation (RI) Work Plan to members of the PRP Committee. Various portions of the draft Phase II RI were distributed to the committee during the period of December 1 through December 3, 1993. Participation in a telephone conference on December 10, 1993 with members of the PRP Technical Committee regarding technical comments on the draft Phase II RI Work Plan. Participation in a telephone conference on December 14, 1993 with Mr. Tim Knutson, and the PRP legal representatives regarding comments on the draft Phase II RI Work Plan. Revision of the draft RI Work Plan in response to the comments provided by the legal and technical members of the PRP Committee. Reviewed and analyzed recently received data (including that for Western Auto and Rodnguez Esso) which were not included in the Phase II RI Work Plan. Incorporated these data into the work plan revisions. Transmittal of the revised Phase II RI Work Plan to the USEPA on December 21, 1993. Distribution of copies to the members of the PRP Committee. Preparation and distribution of Requests for Bids (RFBs) to drilling contractors for the proposed drilling activities in Tutu, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Began preparation of Request for Proposals (RFPs) from laboratories for the proposed Phase II RI laboratory services. Began compiling boring logs and well construction details for the Tutu Wells Site. Revision of comprehensive bibliography for the Tutu Wells Site. Compilation of relevant information from flood insurance and tax assessment maps needed for the completion of the Earth Change Permit Application. Preparation of draft site access agreements for properties where Phase II activities will be implemented. General project management including coordination, cost review, and communications with members of the PRP Committee. TUT O06 1299 WORK TO BE COMPLETED DURING NEXT MONTH Work to be completed during the month of January will concentrate on filing the required Earth Change Permit application and obtaining site access approvals from the various property owners in the Tutu area. Other activities to be performed will consist of the selection of driller and laboratory subcontractors, subcontracting, and field preparation for mobilization.
