ACTNO. 8556 BILL NO. 34-0156 THIRTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2022 An Act amending title 15 Virgin Islands Code, part 1, relating to decedents estates by adding chapter 1A enacting the “Virgin Islands Uniform Electronic Wills Act” Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION I. Title 15 Virgin Islands Code, part | is amended by inserting chapter 1A to read as follows: “Chapter 1A. Virgin Islands Uniform Electronic Wills Act § 51. Short title This chapter may be cited as the “Virgin Islands Uniform Electronic Wills Act”. § 52. Definitions (a) “Electronic” means relating to technology having electrical, digital, magnetic, wireless, optical, electromagnetic, or similar capabilities. (b) “Electronic presence” means the relationship of two or more individuals in different locations communicating in real time to the same extent as if the individuals were physically present in the same location.
