ACTNO, 6901 BILL NO. 26-0345 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Special Session 2006 An Act ratifying the Marketing Support Agreement between the Government of the Virgin Islands and Virgin Islands Rum Industries, Ltd ---0--- WHEREAS, the Government of the Virgin Islands desires to increase taxable sales of rum produced in the Virgin Islands and sold in the United States (outside the U.S Virgin Islands) by Virgin Islands Rum Industries, LTD. (“VIRIL”); and WHEREAS, VIRIL will perform certain sales and marketing activities to promote the sale in the United States of its “Cruzan Rum” and “Conch Republic” brands of rum (collectively referred to herein as “High Value Brand Rum”) which are distilled in the Virgin Islands; and WHEREAS, VIRIL desires to increase the volume of its High Value Brand Rum sales in the United States and is willing to, and capable of, performing such sales and marketing activities; and WHEREAS, the Government proposes to provide financial support to VIRIL for performing certain sales and marketing activities to promote the sale in the United States of …
