April 21, 2020 AMENDMENT FIVE (5) IFB027DOEC20 (C)- Roof, Wall and Restroom Repair/Construction Services at the Claude O. Markoe School, St. Croix, USVI. INSERT: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 1. Question: Item # 4- Buildings 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 require 30 mils for the warranty you request. Will there be any warranty for buildings 12, 13,7,10 and 11? As no mils are provided for the coatings on these buildings. To get a 20-mil coating it can get you a 10-year warranty with a 30 mil you can get a 20-year warranty. Please advise which one you will go with. Answer: The Project Specifications includes and requires a Total Dry Mil of 22Mils with a 10 Years Warranty. (See General Fluid Applied Installation Scope: Page 2 of 18 Part I: Subsection Warranty; and Page 5 of 18 Part III Execution: Subsection; Minimum Application.) 2. Question: Building #7 Library- On site visit most rafters and the roof plywood are infested with termites. Will scope remain the same or a new scope of work will be made to replace complete roof? April 21, 2020 AMENDMENT FIVE (5) IFB027DOEC20 (C)- Roof, Wall and Restroom Repair/Construction Services at the Claude O. Markoe School, St. Croix, USVI. INSERT: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 1. Question: Item # 4- Buildings 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 require 30 mils for the warranty you request. Will there be any warranty for buildings 12, 13,7,10 and 11? Answer: Scope of Work remains the same, with clarifications. SEE BUILDING NO. 7 SCOPE MDOIFICATIONS BELOW. 3. Question: Building #7 Library- Will termite treatment be added to the scope of work? Answer: Yes, the revised bid schedule has been amended to include termite treatment of the entire building including the immediate perimeter grounds. 4. Question: Building #7 Library- On walk thru, vinyl floor looks damaged. Will it need to replace or just clean? Answer: The existing floor tiles now need to be REPLACED, therefore a new line item has been made to the revised bid schedule to account for this work. 5. Question: Building #7 Library- On the scope it does not state to install any plastic window screens. Does this need to be added to scope? Answer: Yes, nine - 36” x 60” windows need Plastic Screens. See the revised bid schedule. 6. Question: Building #7 Library- Will the building need any gutters or downspouts? Answer: Yes, Perimeter Gutters and Two - Downspouts with splash blocks are required. 7. Question: Building #7 Library- Will the building need any gutters or downspouts? Answer: Same as Response to Question No. 6 8. Question: Buildings 3, 4 and 8- Remove copper water line and replace with sch 40. Do the lines going into the buildings need to change as well? It was also recommended to change the copper pipe to sch 80. Answer: All copper lines are to be replaced throughout with SCHEDULE 80 PVC 9. Question: Item #29- Please specify gauge of metal. Answer: Use 24 Gauge Metal 10. Question: Item #40- Please specify hardware. (door closures, panic bars, lock sets) Answer: Provide All New Commercial Grade Hardware similar to those on the existing remaining doors including but not limited to Door Locks-Sets, Hinges, Door Closures, Panic Release Bars and Thresholds. 11. Question: Item #42- You have requested to replace 2,000 sq. ft of R-19 vinyl faced roof insulation. Will we be able to use an alternate as R-19 foam board? Answer: Yes, we will accept Foam Board as a substitution provided it meets the specified R-Value. 12. Question: Building #13- Room 604 On the walk thru we noticed the ceiling grid is damaged and rusted, ceiling tiles damaged and lights dropping down. Please let us know if this will be added to the scope. Answer: No, this work is already included, please refer to and provide as per Item No. 59 on the revised bid schedule. 13. Question: Building #13- On the walk thru the maintenance personnel at the school mentioned the bathrooms in the building 13 have collapsed and nothing works. Will these items be added to scope? Answer: Work in those two bathrooms shall be included on the amended bid schedule. 14. Question: Time frame for project should increase to 180 days. As we need to get engineer drawings and inspections done. Drawings and Permits for the Freezer Cooler building. Then to do the application for the warranty and get approval for the roofs. Answer: The Project Schedule SHALL REMAIN AT 120 CALENDAR DAYS. All other terms and conditions remain the same. A copy of this amendment must be returned with your bid.
