In connection with the recent gam- bling affair, which was reported by us some days ago, and in which Inspector Gereaux was assaulted, we learn that six of the parties concerned have bheen convicted and fined Frs. 20 each.—lbid. The case comes up for trial this af- ternoon at 2 o’cluek.—lbd. : This morning at about 4o’clock, and while returning on the ‘“‘Lady Con- stance’’ from Tortola whither they had gone on a pleasure bout, some of our townsfolk had the misfortune of being ship wrecked, their boat striking a reef off the coast of St. Jan. They were after awhile, however, rescued by the “White Wing’’, which was on her -way back to St. Jan from here after landing a party of pleasure seekers from that place, and brought down at7 a m. Luckily the weather was calm; and but for the scare, very little damage was anffered. There is some doubt as to the possibility. of rofloadng the ves: sei. - Ibhid.
