~« ~ we ACT NO, 7849 BILL NO. 31-0166 THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2016 An Act amending title 19 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 37 section 805 to require the Department of Health, through the local registrar, as designated pursuant to title 19 section 803, to compile a report of all death certificates on a bi-annual basis to ensure that various exemptions do not continue after a person's death Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 19 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 37, section 805 is amended by adding a subsection (e) to read: “(e) The registrar shall document and submit a report to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Office of the Recorder of Deeds, the Division of Personnel, the Government Employees Retirement System and the Office of the Tax Assessor on a bi-annual basis of all death certificates issued.” SECTION 2. The first report required by Section { of this Act pursuant to 19 VIC § 805(e) is due on December 16, 2016 and every six months thereafter. …
