Twenty-Ninth Legislature Of The Virgin Islands Regular Session 2011 An Act amending 2 V.I.C., chapter 1 as it relates to investigations conducted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 2 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, is amended by inserting a new section 10 to read: “§10. The Legislature’s Committee on Rules & Judiciary shall exchange fingerprint data with and receive criminal history record information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation for use in receiving, considering and making recommendations on individuals nominated for public Government offices and judgeships and individuals appointed to Boards and Commissions. Pursuant to §16 of the Revised Organic Act of 1954, the nominations and appointments shall be made by the Governor of the Virgin Islands and require confirmation by the full Legislature of the Virgin Islands.” Thus passed by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands on October 27, 2011. …
