I do not oppose the use of 6a for residential use, nor did I hear any community members who attended the public hearing express an objection to using 6a for residential use. However, I oppose the rezoning of Beeston Hill 6a from R-1 to B-2 for the following reasons: 1. B-2 is not needed to build townhouses. R zoning is the more appropriate zoning for residential townhouses. B-2 is for commercial use and allows residential use. However, its primary purpose is for commercial use and I believe that this is the applicant's long term anticipated use of the property. 2. The applicant's only justification for using B-2 is some vague reference to "leveraging resources". However, applicant’s paid consultant could not explain what was meant by this. …

The applicant's only justification for using B-2 is some vague reference to "leveraging resources". However, applicant’s paid consultant could not explain what was meant by this. I would also like to get on the record that applicant's paid consultant, Ms. Alicia Barnes, made comments that "people opposed to the project were not community-minded, were entrenched in luxurious entitlement, and sought to stifle a younger generation of Crucians’ potential." For the record, these sentiments were never expressed by the public at the hearing and there are no facts on the record that would support this outlandish statement. Additionally, on her paid infomercial on WLDV on Monday, Sep 22 with applicant Misbeh, Ms. Barnes stated that "I don't understand the outcry. It just seems to be coming from a very selfish, hysterical space, boarding on some elitism, some classism and a couple of other isms that I'm just going to let linger.". Ms. Barnes seems to want to ignore the community's real objection to the rezoning: B-2 is not needed for townhouses and applicant has failed to justify its use, so she reverts to name calling and her accusations are an attempt to hide this truth.
