ACTNO, 7642 BILL NO. 30-0345 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2014 An Act amending the Virgin Islands Code, titles 3 and 27, relating to the professional practice of dentistry in the Territory and enacting The Dental Healthcare Act, and for other related purposes --0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION I. Title 27 Virgin Islands Code, subchapter III is repealed and reenacted with amendments to read as follows: ‘Subchapter III. Board of Dental Examiners — Dental Healthcare Act §61. Purpose. (a) In the interest of the public health, safety and welfare and to protect the public from the improper, unprofessional, incompetent and unlawful practice of dentistry and dental hygiene, it is necessary to provide laws and regulations controlling the granting and use of the privilege to practice dentistry and dental hygiene and to ensure, as much as possible, that only qualified and fit persons hold that privilege. …
