STAKEMANN Agent for Christiamsted’s District Policies are net subject to average, | e S 1 LW sLX -AN 18 P t ® l ,t. ost Office Notice OMMENCING Saturday, Oct. 23, 1921, c this office will be closed on Safurdays at 4p. m., and the hour for closing the mail for Saint Thomas, Porto’ Rico and the Uniied States will be extended to 4 p. m., instead of 3 p. m. as at pres- ent. This change is occasioned by the fact that owing to the continuous de- mand for service at the post office win dows on Saturdays untii sp. m., it is practically impossible to divert the necessary attemtion to closing and dis- patching the mail which should reach Frederiksted at a certain hour, and en- tails considerable time to make up. While general business will be suspended at 4 p. m.. the public will gain one hour additional in which to cateh the outgoing mail, and it is calculated that this ar- rangement should redound to mutual advantage for patrons and the service. As regards the mail from Frederiksted, it is so arranged that this will be deliver- ed by 4 p.m The earnest cooperation of the public is invited in observing the proper nours,in which post office service will be given patrons, and it must be enjoined that, while it is sincerely de sired to extend the maximum facilities an accommodation to all patrons at all times, demands for service when the office is necessarily closed for the taking up of speeific luties, manifestly operate against the efficiency of the service and should be discouraged.
