Bob is tortured, and Lucille, to save him, promises to tell where the satchel is hidden, 210 t knowing herself that it has floated away downstream. A realistic forest fire threat- s the cabin, during which Bob and Lucille escapes. They take a daring and pic- turesque ride down a river on a raft, followed by the members of the gang. An inter- esting Episode. : L e ' Episede No. 4: “AFIENDISH REVENGE” =~ This is the strongest Episode which has ever.appeared in a Serial. - It contains one very '‘suspenseful’’ situation in which Elmo climbs up the shaft of a mine to safety and. then makes a very gallant effort to draw the girl up after him while fighting a life and death battle with the villain with his free arm, but the Phantom Menace comes to his aid in this extremity and saves the situation. Tlhis Episode is surely one of tremend- ous strength. b .
