Katahdin after discharging a part of her cargo, floated, and came to anchorage Saturday afternoon. Itis un- derstood that the cause of her ground- ing was, ihat ihe anchor of the bouy from which she was being warped was not adequate to the strain and gave way. Jama:ea, July 29th.—The Governor has notified the press that the Prince of Wales aill arrive at Jamaica on the 15th of September and will remain ashore until some time on Saturday the 18th, thus ~enabling His Roval Highness to present colours to the West India Regi- ment and the Jamaica Battalions of the Rritish West Indies Regt. and to spand two clear days in trav.lling the country districts. Berlin, July 28th.—The Reichstag to- day by an overwhelming majority ap- proved of the agreement made recently by the Govt. at Spa with the represen- tatives of the Entente. Relfast, July 28th. —Donegal this morn- ing was making frantic appeals to Lon- donderry for food supplies; these, how- ever, could not be delivered because trainmen refused to move trains with military on board and the military in- sisted upon occupying the trains. A train which was stopped at Letterken- ny on Monday by Sinn Feiners because 1t was transporting troops was still there today with the military guarding it. Masked men early this morning held up the Belfast-Dublin train at Newry and took away the maiis. Ostend, July 28th. —The United States Polo Tearn. defeated the Belgians 13 to 3 in the Olympic contest this afternoon. The games between the British and Spanish teams have been postponed un- til Saturday. Wallangarra, Queensland, July 27th.— On the arrival of the Royal train at Wal- langarra the Queenslénd border town- ship yesterday morning, the Prince of Wales was met and weicomed to Queens- land byLieut. Governor Lenuon of Queens- land and aiso by Acting Premier Fihelly. At Cotionvale the Prince’s party proceed- ed to the returned soldiers settlement re-named Amie:s, passing through areas of virgin bush bearing signboards of the names Pozieres, Bullecourt, Bapaume and Meossines. At Amiens the Prinee inspect- ed 150 ex-goidiers engaged in the tough task of cleaning their leaseholds for or- chards. The setuers have had a severe drought to contend against but appeared cheerful. The great majority have English brides with them. The Prince was heartily received. They cheered him as.he walked among the s-ttlers asking quesztions concerning their ccn- ditions and prospects. Constantinople. July 28th.—The Lbol- shevist army advancing from Baku through Armenia,took Croucha, 264 miles southwest of Baku, virtually unopposed, as well as Gerousi, 24 miles northwest of Croucha, the next important town on the waggon route to thefjTabrizirailway. In Baku the Bolshevists are¢ training 4 large Armenian Communist army to assist in the overihrow of the Armenian repubiic. British warships have seized a Russian ship from Nikollev at Trebi- zond carrying Bolshevist arms and am- munition for the Nationalists. Stockhoim, July 29th.—Germany 1s trying to expor! byway of Sweden two hundred thousand nauser rifles and the Swedish Govt. has been asked to give its consent to their importation - with the understanding that they are ~ intended for exportation to Mexico. Application to this end has been made to the Foreign Office.
