ACTNO, 7159 BILL NO. 28-0167 TWENTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2010 An Act amending title 5 Virgin Islands Code, adding chapter 64 enacting and entering into the Interstate Compact for Juveniles Pee | ee Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 5 Virgin Islands Code is amended by adding chapter 64 to read as follows: “CHAPTER 64 INTERSTATE COMPACT FOR JUVENILES §701. (Article I) This chapter may be cited as “The Interstate Compact for Juveniles Act”. §701a. The Interstate Compact for Juveniles is enacted into law, ratified and entered into with all other jurisdictions legally joining the Compact in substantially the form set forth in this chapter. §701b. Purpose. (a) The compacting states to this Interstate Compact recognize that each state is responsible for the proper supervision or return of juveniles, delinquents and status offenders who are on probation or parole and who have absconded, escaped or run away from supervision and control and in so doing have endangered their own safety and the safety of others. …
