Hearing – September 19, 2025 Dear Acting Commissioner Roberts, In my capacity as Chair of the Committee on Culture, Youth, Aging, Sports, and Parks (C.Y.A.S.P.), I am pleased to invite you to participate in an upcoming legislative hearing scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Hall in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. This hearing will examine the operational oversight, progress, and challenges related to recreational facilities and capital improvement projects of the Department of Sports, Parks, and Recreation (DSPR) across the territory. You are invited to testify during BLOCK I: Territorial Operations Review, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, where the Department is expected to present a comprehensive report highlighting the following: • Current operations and service coverage across all territorial recreation sites • Progress and status updates on capital improvement projects • Implementation of community programs and recreational initiatives • Staffing levels, resource allocations, and operational challenges • Budget utilization and strategic goals for fiscal year 2026 We kindly request that your presentation include relevant data, timelines, and any legislative recommendations that could support or enhance the Department's mission. Please confirm your attendance and provide the names of any accompanying staff or agency representatives.
