We have been askeu o mention that the Native Brass Band will give a con- cert on the Wharf tonight. The *‘Creole’’ sailed from here for St, Thomas at 6 p. m. yesterday. The show at St. Mary’s Hall last night is reported as having been .a fine one. The attendance left much to be ’desired, and those who were absent lost the chance of seeing a really attractive litile drama. Tonight ‘*Amcr Tropiczl” Tro- pical Love, will be regeated, and from the good accounts of this film_ when it was shown on Monday nighti§ may be recommended to those who canfappreci ate something rare iu this line. o American Red C1 Jss. “JASHINGTON, April—An appro- priation of SIO,OOO has been granted the Vladivostok "Chapter of the American Red Cross by National Headgro=*-=~ for immedia‘e relief work among ivu.. refugees in Siberia. Seeretary and other members of the Council also attend- ed the meeting. Present were the chairman and Vice- chairman, Messrs. Thiele and Kuntz, re- speetively and members Burnet, Coruneiro Daniel, de Jongh, Morehead, Francis, Knud-Harsen and Smith. As aforesaid. the government was represented by L Com. J. J. Thomas Bulletin, April 20th. Ricardo Allen who was arraigned be- fore Judge Williams yesterday morning and charge with assaulting a man with a deadly weapon, was found guilty and was sentenced to one month in prison. The prisoner was then alse charged by P. C. Anduze for resisting arrest and having been found guilty by the Police Judge, Allen was sentenced to 5 days imprisoument. bid. TELEGRA@ , ST. CROIX STATION. ®ubiin, April 20th.—Little hope for tangible results ® the directicn of peace was expressed on resumption today of the peace conference between the Free Staters and Republicans, although Lora Mayor O’Neil and Arehbishop Byrne have exerted themselves te the utmost, since the adjournment last week, to kring about an understanding. The public, is generally skeptical of results, aud therefore is showing little interest in the meeting at the Mansion House. Thedprd Mayor, while expressing in a statement yesterday the hope that peacemight core in the near future, refrained from pre- dicting that it would be achieved at the conference, and added. that should the meeting fail, an early combination of the forces of capital and labour mighe be looked for in an offort to obtain or- der. Labour leaders are reported to have been conferring for the last few days with both the heads of the Pro- visional Government and the Republiean : and may be represented at today’s meet- ing although it is not certain. It seems considerably in doubt however whether labour would combine with carital, ingmm e clrcumstances suggested, as Irisi}.
