ACTNO, 7979 BILL NO. 31-0506 THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2016 An Act designating January 25, 2017 “Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruz Bay, St. John Day” and providing for the assistance of the Department of Tourism in organizing events and tourism activities ---()--- WHEREAS, The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise a fully chartered theme cruise has called on the Virgin Island Islands many times since the 1990s: and WHEREAS, the predecessor to The Legendary Rhythm & Blues. Cruise, The Ultimate Rhythm and Blues Cruise, held a one-day blues festival during its January 1996 and January 1997 visits to St. Croix: and WHEREAS, on January 20, 2016, the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise called on St. Croix, and in partnership with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Sports. Parks and Recreation conducted a blues-in-the-schools program and held a music festival in the town of Frederiksted: and WHEREAS, in January 26, 2011, The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise had its maiden voyage to Cruz Bay, St. …
