COMMITTEE ON BUDGET, APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE BILL NO. 36-0018 Thirty-Sixth Legislature of the Virgin Islands February 27, 2025 An Act amending title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 25, subchapter V, section 551 by increasing the minimum salary amount for teachers from $3,200 per annum to $60,000 per annum and by making technical amendments PROPOSED BY: Senators Kurt A. Vialet and Marvin A. Blyden Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. Title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 25, subchapter V is amended as 2 follows: 3 (a) In the second occurrence of section 551, strike the title “Purpose and Coverage” 4 and insert “Pay Plan”; 5 (b) In the second occurrence of section 551, Schedule III, paragraph (1), strike 6 “$3,200” and insert “$60,000”; and 7 (c) Re-designate the second occurrence of section 551 as section 551e. 8 SECTION 2. Section 1 takes effect at the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year. …
