ACT NO. 7359 BILL NO. 31-0102 THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2016 An Act amending title 18 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17, subchapter II, section 384 relating to the prohibition against the filing of nomination papers for Governor and Lieutenant Governor by candidates who are not of the same political parties a=. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 18 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 17, subchapter II, section 384 is amended by adding subsection (d) to read as follows: “(d) Nomination papers may not be filed under this subchapter by any candidates for the offices of Governor and Licutenant Governor, unless: ql) Both candidates are registered and enrolled members of the same political party on the date of filing; or (2) Neither of the two candidates is a registered and enrolled member of a political party on the date of filing.” Thus passed by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands on March 30, 2016.
