Richards INO A OND = m © BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 33, chapter 111, Virgin Islands Code is amended by adding a new section 3098 to read as follows: § 3098. SOLID WASTE REVOLVING FUND (a) There is established in the Treasury of the Virgin Islands, a fund to be known as the Solid Waste Revolving Fund (hereinafter the “Fund”). The Commissioner of Finance shall provide for the administration of the Fund as a separate and distinct fund in the Treasury of the Virgin Islands. Y NDNNMNY NY @ ee eo oe oe RE OB hONzt2OGDAN DA AOWHND = 1 i) 0) as OOMNOWAON = e 2 (b) The Fund shall consist of all sums appropriated thereto by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands, and all funds authorized by law or regulation to be collected by the Department of Public Works for solid waste disposal. (c) Monies in the Fund shall be disbursed by the Commissioner of Finance upon authorization by the Department of Public Works for the maintenance of solid waste disposal sites. (d) The Commissioner of Finance shall maintain a record of all monies deposited into and disbursed from the “Solid Waste Revolving Fund” and shall report annually to the Governor and the Legislature on the status of the fund. EXPLANATION This legislation establishes a fund into which all tipping fees and other fees collected or appropriated for solid waste disposal will be deposited. The funds will be utilized by the.
