THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT “To Protect and Serve” Office of the Commissioner AAF Justice Complex, 5400 Veterans Drive St. Thomas, 00802 * (340) 774-2211 Administrative Services Building 45 Mars Hill, Frederiksted St. Croix, 00840 * (340) 778-2211 www.vipd.vi.gov VIPD NEWS RELEASE - 051723-158 For Immediate Media Distribution May 17, 2023 Body of Male Found Floating near Marine Terminal St. Thomas, USVI - On Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at approximately 6:04 a.m., a citizen contacted 911 and reported that there was a person floating in the water, in the area of Edward Wilmoth Blyden IV Marine Terminal. Upon responding officers’ arrival, contact was made with an unresponsive male. Emergency Medical Technicians arrived on the scene and concluded that the male did not have any vital signs. The identity of this male is unknown currently. The cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy. Anyone having any information about this incident please contact the Virgin Islands Police Department at (340)774-2211 or the Criminal Investigation Unit’s Major Crimes Division at (340)642-8449. …
