THE TERRITORY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS; and THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT, Defendants. ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) Civil No. 2008-158 THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT’S AUGUST 2023 STATUS REPORT COME NOW Defendants, by and through the undersigned counsel, and hereby submit the Virgin Islands Police Department’s (“VIPD”) August 2023 Status Report. On August 11, 2023, the Internal Monitoring Team provided its draft quarterly report for the second reporting period of 2023. VIPD was able to provide feedback on the proposed report and the IMT incorporated said feedback. VIPD agrees with what was provided in the Second Quarter Internal Monitoring Report. Furthermore, VIPD and the Monitoring Team have had a follow up meeting to ascertain the status of outstanding Use of Force cases. We intend to have a follow-up meeting in September 2023, prior to the hearing to discuss whether any subsequent actions have been completed. …
