Thomas the Virgin Islands Police Department alongside other law enforcement agencies prioritized the safety of our visitors and community. "On behalf of Commissioner Ray Martinez and the rest of the leadership team at the Virgin Islands Police Department we would like to thank the entire Virgin Islands community for coming out and being great stewards of safety and security throughout the Ubersoca Cruise events here on St Thomas. The world watched as thousands of visitors and locals enjoyed partying on the streets of Charlotte Amalie with no incidents. …

We will take this same energy over into Carnival week, which starts in just a few days. Look out for each other and be your brother's keeper at all times. Remember, the goal above all else is to have an enjoyable and safe Carnival” said Assistant Commissioner Mario Brooks. VIPD stands committed to being effective and inclusive while advancing public safety, continuing to value the service we provide to our community. Chief of Police for St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island Districts, Steven Phillip, also expressed his gratitude to the community. “I would like to thank the community for keeping the Uber Soca Cruise events fun and safe. It was a success and I know we will continue for our official upcoming carnival festivities. I would also like to thank the Virgin Islands Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies for their continuous support of being guardians of our community”. This year as we Illuminate our culture for the world to see, we can BE SAFE for carnival 2023. ###
