ACTNO, 7269 BILL NO. 29-0020 TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2011 An Act amending title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 27, to ensure that all hazardous duty employees, including certain employees of Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority, remit their employee contributions to the Government Employees Retirement System upon their appointment (== Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 27, is amended by adding an appropriately numbered section to read as follows: “§ Contribution upon appointment for Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority employees and hazardous duty employees Notwithstanding any law, rule or regulation to the contrary, any eligible Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority employee, as defined in title 3 Virgin Islands Code, section 702 (x), any eligible employee as defined in title 3 Virgin Islands Code, section 702 (y) or any hazardous duty employee of the Government of the Virgin Islands, its agencies or instrumentalities, as defined elsewhere in this Code, shall, upon …
