T is hereby made known, that whereas I the following Member of the Colonial Council, elected by the Town and Sa- burbs of Frederiksted will h:ve to retire from the Coupcil in accordance with Art. 17 of the Colonial Law, viz: 2nd Member Mr. Robt. L. Merwin. Government has resolved in virtue of Art. 28 of the Colonial Law that the GENERAL ELECTION of Members to the Council in lieu of the said gentle- man shall take place in the Court House of Frederiksted Jurisdiction on FRIDAY THE 6TH. MAY a. c. The polling will commence at 1 o’clock p.m. and in accordance with Art. 30 of the Colonial Law will close at 4 o’clock p. m. at the earliest. At the election no one can he consi- dered unless he has announced himself as a candidate or has been so announced by one of the electors of the electoral district. The announcement of ecandi- dature shall either be made in writing by personal attendance of the anouncer before the electoral board. The written announcement, signed by the announcer (announcers) must be sent to the under- signed chairman at my official office, not later than 4 o’clock p, m. on the 2nd May a. ¢ and- for receiving an- nouncements made personally the Elec- toral Board will meet at the place where the election is to be held, at3 o’clock p. m. on Tuesday the 3rd May a. ec.
