STAKEMANN, | President gT £NI B yvl3 NOTICE. . | ACCOI}‘.DI;\'G to paragraph 14 of Road Ordivance of@ June 1834. | The Inspection of the general anpual | repairs of the public roads with bridges | culvers side walls, water-courses, hand | rails ete.. ete. shall commence after the | 15 February. | Ail Roadholders are therefore request- | ¢” to have their respective allotments in | good efficient order by that date. | The repairs are now being carried on | in a very inefficient manner and not ac- | cording to the road regulations{ the | trenches are not dug out or clzaned | properly, the roadway is too flat and has | not sufficient crown to shoot off the water, | and ihe road sides in many places are | higher than the centre of the roadway. | The road must have a good-high erown | so as to shoot off the water quickly and | keep the roadway clean. The trenches | must be dug out and cleaned out proper- | ly and the water from same must not be | blocked off from its natural course but | must have a good outlet so that it may | not soften or effect the road bed.
