For nearly twenty-five years, I have had the honor of calling Janeisha not just a friend, but family. From the moment I met her as a bright and ambitious sixteen-year-old, I recognized her extraordinary potential. Over the years, I have had the privilege of coaching and designing for her through a remarkable journey that includes Miss St. Croix, Miss Virgin Islands America, Miss Virgin Islands Universe, and ultimately Miss Universe 2010, held in Las Vegas. …

Honoring Janeisha John by Jamal Drummond Good day Chairman Avery Lewis, Senators of the 36th Legislature, fellow testifiers, and the viewing and listening audience. I am K’Asia O’Bryan, your 2024-2025 Jr. Miss St. Croix. I will be reading this testimony on behalf of my uncle, Mr. Jamal Drummond, in honor of my Godmother, Janeisha John. It is with immense pride and deep admiration that I, Mr. Jamal Drummond, submit this testimony in recognition of Miss Janeisha John — a woman whose name has become synonymous with excellence, purpose, and Virgin Islands pride. Through each experience, she carried herself with elegance, humility, and the unshakable spirit of a true Virgin Islander. Beyond her many titles, Janeisha is a woman of depth and integrity — family-oriented, ambitious, multi-talented, and profoundly grounded. She is an accomplished dancer, saxophonist, model, actress, and broadcaster whose creativity and professionalism have elevated every space she has entered. Throughout our years working together, Janeisha has been my muse and motivator — someone who brought my artistic visions to life with grace and authenticity. She wore every creation not just with beauty, but with meaning, speaking life into my art and, more importantly, into me. Even in moments of doubt, she stood firmly beside me, offering encouragement, faith, and genuine belief in my gifts. What truly sets Janeisha apart, however, is her unwavering commitment to giving back to the Virgin Islands. No matter where her career has taken her — whether on the stage, in front of the camera, or on the big screen — she has always proudly carried the flag of her homeland. She uses her platform to uplift our youth, celebrate our culture, and showcase the immense talent born from these islands. Her love for her community is evident in the countless ways she mentors, volunteers, and creates opportunities for others to shine. Janeisha represents the best of who we are — a woman of vision, virtue, and voice, rooted in her heritage yet fearless in her pursuit of greatness. She stands for everything that honors the legacy of our people and falls for nothing that compromises her integrity. For all these reasons, I wholeheartedly affirm that Miss Janeisha John is deserving of this high honor from the Legislature of the Virgin Islands. Her legacy continues to inspire not only those of us who know her personally, but an entire generation of Virgin Islanders who dare to dream beyond our shores. With the highest respect and admiration, Sincerely, Mr. Jamal Drummond Designer | Mentor | Friend
