IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES NOVEMBER 19, 1999 Mrs. CHRISTENSEN introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure A BILL To amend title 46, United States Code, to exempt from inspection certain small passenger vessels that operate in waters of the United States only in the Virgin Islands. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. EXEMPTION FROM INSPECTION FOR CERTAIN 3 SMALL PASSENGER VESSELS THAT OPERATE 4 ONLY IN THE VIRGIN ISLANDS. 5 Section 3302 of title 46, United States Code, is 6 amended by adding at the end the following: 7 ‘‘(n) A small passenger vessel that operates in waters 8 of the United States only in the Virgin Islands shall not 9 2 •HR 3512 IH be subject to inspection under section 3301(8) of this title 1 if it carries no more than 12 passengers.’’. 2 Æ
