USVI CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT REGISTRY CHECK REQUESTS The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services conducts Child Abuse and Neglect History Registry Checks for the Territory. To obtain a Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Check, the request must be made in writing on the official letterhead of the requesting entity indicating the purpose for the requested check. The written request must be accompanied by a consent for release of information signed by the subject of the search or his/her legal representative. Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Check results should be available within 14 days from the date of the receipt of the request. • For Local Criminal Background Checks and NCIC Fingerprint Background Checks please contact the Virgin Islands Police Department at https://vipd.vi.gov • For Sex Offender Registry Checks contact the Virgin Islands Department of Justice at usvidoj.com
