ACT NO, ¢128 BILL NO. 28-0105 TWENTY-EIGHT LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2009 An Act to establish a ten-month amnesty period from interest and penalties for delinquent gross receipt taxes through September 30, 2009 ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. The Bureau of Internal Revenue shall, no later than 30 days after the passage of this Act, establish a ten-month amnesty period during which all interest and penalties owed to the Government up to September 30, 2009, shall be waived for the payment of gross receipt taxes authorized to be collected pursuant to 33 V.I.C., chapter 3, for any taxpayer who voluntarily pays any due and owing gross receipts tax beginning December 1, 2009 and ending September 30, 2010. SECTION 2. The Government Employees Retirement System Board of Trustees shall implement the Tier II Retirement Benefits Program beginning January 1, 2011, as provided in title 3 Virgin Islands Code, Chapter 28A.
