ACT NO, 7640 BILL NO. 30-0047 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2014 An Act to repeal and reenact with amendments title 14, chapter 75, section 1508 of the Virgin Islands Code in order to provide a clearer definition for the crime of interfering with a peace officer, firefighter or first responder discharging his duty —0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION I. Title 14, chapter 75, section 1508 of the Virgin Islands Code is repealed and reenacted with amendments to read as follows: “§ 1508. Interfering with an officer, firefighter, or first responder discharging his duty (a) No person, without privilege to do so and with purpose to prevent, obstruct, or delay the performance by a peace officer, firefighter, or first responder of any authorized act within the peace officer’s, firefighter’s, or first responder’s official capacity, shall do any act that hampers or impedes a peace officer, firefighter or first responder in the performance of lawful duties. …
