ACTNO. ‘7706 BILL NO. 30-0438 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2014 An Act amending Title 31 Virgin Islands Code, Chapter 23, section 236a making the Preferred Bidders Act applicable to all government entities and providing for alternative methods of surety for performance bonds for bidders under the Act -(--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 31 Virgin Islands Code, Chapter 23, section 236a is amended in the following instances; (1) Subsections (b) and (e) are amended by adding after the words “Commissioner of Property and Procurement‘ the words ‘‘and procurement officer of all Virgin Islands government entities, including but not limited to, authorities, agencies or semi-autonomous instrumentalities.” (2) Subsection (e) is amended by adding after the words “performance bonds” the phrase “including one of the following means of guarantee”; (1} a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the amount mandated by subsections (c) and (d); (2) a separate performance and payment bond, each in the amount of 50% of …
