ACTNO. 7931 BILL NO. 31-0256 THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2016 An Act amending title 30 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, subchapter I, section 9a relating to the interest rate paid by the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“VIWAPA”) on customer deposits, requiring that the VIWAPA pay interest on customer deposits at a rate equal to the average prevailing interest rate paid by local banks on saving accounts Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 30 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 1, subchapter I, section 9a is amended in the following instances: (a) Subsection (a) is amended by adding an exception clause at the beginning of the subsection which reads as follows: “Except as provided in subsection (b)”. …
