ANSWER: The maximum space (span) between the 4” post is 7 feet Question: On the drawing labelled PG-4 it specifies the installation of rectangular post for Anti-climb fence without footing, however there is a specific mention of 12” concrete footing that will be constructed under the fence to hold the wire in place. This information is rather conflicting, since on pG-3 under “typical fence detail” it shows the detail for an 8”°x12” concrete footing. Please clarify? Answer: The security fence shall be constructed with a continuous 12” high x 8” thick footing. Therefore please refer to the detail on page 3. The label on page 4 says “ Rectangular post for Anti-Climb fence without the footing”. Again, this fence has a continuous 12”x8” footing. Question: In terms of concrete. There isn’t any detail specifying the strength of the concrete for the fence post nor footing? Question: On the sheet labelled PG-3 there is a detail that shows the “connection to the fence post detail” however in this detail it shows a sch-40 round post. What are the required fence post? Is it the 3”x3” regular post or are sch-40 round post an option, and if so what is the diameter of the round post? Answer: This fence shall be constructed with the rectangular post. Question: On PG-3, the “post in concrete” detail is different to the same detail post in concrete detail on PG-4. Which detail is going to be used for this project? Answer: The detail on page 3 will be used for this project with a concrete depth of 24” and a width of 16”. The correction was already made in the drawing and will be distributed. Question: On PG-7 there is a detail which shows the horizontal rails as being rectangular, however on page 3 all of the as specified to be 1-5/8 round pipe? Which detail is going to be the standard for this project? Answer: The horizontal rails shall be used for this project as shown on PG-7 Question: There isn’t any detail specifying how the razor wire will be connected installed. Please provide information such as the min/max loop spacing, fastener type, e.t.c Answer: The razor wire will be connected to the Top Rail with 2” cover plate. The diameter of the loops are 24” spaced at 12” on center. Question: Due to the magnitude of this project, I think it would be advisable to include in the bid-sheet a specific line item for mobilization Answer: Yes, the project is a large one and as you have suggested mobilization could have been added as a separate line item on the bid sheet. This was not done and so each contractor can mark-up the respective line items to reflect this. Question: Can you please provide a bituminous pavement detail showing base requirements? Since this will be a turnaround is there going to be compaction testing done? And if so at what percentage? Answer: The present existing road will be a part of the turnaround. It will be however be widen to construct the tumaround. Only the extension of the road will have the granular road base of 4”. The depth of the asphalt will be 2”. A detail will be submitted. Contractors please take note that the second gate will be powered as well as is the case with the first gate. This is a mandate from the B.O.C Director. Electrical power for gate N0.2 will be obtain from the generator room.
