THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT “To Protect and Serve” Office of the Commissioner AAF Justice Complex, 5400 Veterans Drive St. Thomas, 00802 * (340) 774-2211 Administrative Services Building 45 Mars Hill, Frederiksted St. Croix, 00840 * (340) 778-2211 www.vipd.vi.gov VIPD RELEASE- 032223-084 For Immediate Media Distribution VIPD INVESTIGATING SHOOTING IN PEARSON GARDENS St. Thomas, USVI- On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at about 10:00 p.m., the Virgin Islands Police Department Patrol Division along with the Criminal Investigation Bureau responded to two gunshot victims at Paul M. Pearson Gardens. The victims were transported via private vehicle to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center. Upon arrival, contact was made with both victims who stated that they were under a tent when an individual suddenly opened fire. The victims further stated that in an attempt to run away they got struck by the gun fire. The first victim sustained a single gunshot to his lower back while the other victim was struck in his chest and abdomen and had to be operated on immediately. …

The victims had to be hospitalized for their injuries until further notice. This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
