S 1. LV X 5 VIS 8.15. THIS EVENING 8.15. “EUGENE O’BRIEN” IN “HiS Wonderfui Chance” The art of keeping things moving has been finely masterey in ‘“The Wonderful Chance,”’” released by Selznick. Itis full of drama iz punch and has been conceived with originality and directed with alertness. Dramatic climaxes are swift and trequent. Best of all, they are convincing. : A band of crooks kidnap an English nobleman, and in sending one of their own to impersonate him, discover that some oneelse has beaten them at their own game. They decide to doublecrecss the other erook, but he is too quick for them, and taeir carefully- planned blow ends in an anti elimax. : Euagene O’Brien doubles as the English lord and the \merican who so closely re- sembles him. He makes a sharp distinction between his two characterizations, and is as usual apleasing entertainer. Martha Mansfield is a charming vis-a-vis. The picture has been directed with pep. and evervthing and everbody has been ma.dc subordinate to the projection of the story. The crook angle furnishes the thriils, the mistaken iden- tity angle the suspense, and the love interest, though of minor impurtance, adds the human touch. .
