Washiuzton, April 22nd.—On behalf of the Dover Patrol War Mamorial Fund and English speaking Unior, Maj,r Wrench, Seeretary of the Union, yester- day presented Secretary Danicls with a cheque for six thousand pounds, allotted to . this ‘eountry from the Union’s Funds for the erection of a memorial to commemorate the Associu- tion of the British and American Navies in the maintenance of the Dover Patrol. Major Wrench, in presenting the chequc, emphasized the importance of con: tinued closer relations and accord be- tween the English speaking peoples’. ““Whatever may be the uit'mate size of either the DBritish or American Navy’’, he said, ‘‘l believ= our respective Flags will float in the breezes of the seven seas for all tim in the friendliest asso- ciation’”’. Accepting the gitt as a token of the esteem in which the American Navy is held by the DBritish people, Mr Daniels declared that the friendship strengthened in the stress of mutual cooperation and sacrifices in war must be cemented in the devotion to world peace. The fund will be used in the erec- tion of a monument at the entrance of New York Harbour. London, Aoril 22nd.—The report that Sir Thomas White will be the Head of the Canadian Representatives at the Kinancial Conference to be called by the League of Nations at Brussels tc- wards the end of next month, is highly approved here. Paris, April 23rd.—-General Master- man, as a member of the Kntente Com- mission of Control of Germany, in a re- port made public yesterday severely apraigns Germany for the way the In- ter-Allied commission has been obstruet- ed in its mission. It says that diffi- culties are being placed in the way of he commissicn and aceess to places, the commission desired to inspeet has been’ refused. The commission, 'he say s, found three secret aviation depots near Berlin, and the report adds that if given increased facilities he is sure that many more such depots will be found. It also declares that Germany is disposed to execute the treaty of peace, but that Government is entirely in the hands of the MilitaryParty.
