RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Purpose: To approve a program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work. WHEREAS, the Master of Arts degree in Social Work supports needed workforce development in the Territory, and provides UVI students with further opportunities for professional careers after graduation; and WHEREAS; the Master of Arts degree in Social Work is consistent with the spirit and goals of the University’s strategic plan, Greatness through Innovation; and WHEREAS, on April 12, 2019, the Social Sciences Department in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and WHEREAS, on April 22, 2019, the Curriculum Committee in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and WHEREAS, on April 26, 2019, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and WHEREAS, on May 7, 2019, the Graduate Council approved …

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Purpose: To approve a program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work. WHEREAS, the Master of Arts degree in Social Work supports needed workforce development in the Territory, and provides UVI students with further opportunities for professional careers after graduation; and WHEREAS; the Master of Arts degree in Social Work is consistent with the spirit and goals of the University’s strategic plan, Greatness through Innovation; and WHEREAS, on April 12, 2019, the Social Sciences Department in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and WHEREAS, on April 22, 2019, the Curriculum Committee in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and WHEREAS, on April 26, 2019, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and WHEREAS, on May 7, 2019, the Graduate Council approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and WHEREAS, on May 14, 2019, the faculty of the University approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and WHEREAS, on June 13, 2019, the Academic Research and Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees approved the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY THAT: 1. The establishment of the program framework for a Master of Arts degree in Social Work is hereby approved. 2. The President is authorized to take such action as is necessary to implement this resolution. 3. This resolution shall become effective June 22, 2019. CERTIFICATION The undersigned hereby certifies that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands and adopted at its meeting on Saturday, June 22, 2019, as recorded in the minutes of the said meeting.
