The suspect was identified as Shahime T. Ludvig Jr. Upon approaching Mr. Ludvig, officers attempted to initiate contact, however, the suspect reportedly seized a black firearm from a vehicle and fled the scene. He managed to evade pursuit, avoiding officers who were in the process of carrying out their law enforcement duties. On August 13, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., Shahime T. Ludvig Jr., 25 years of age, was arrested and charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, and Fleeing from an Officer Discharging his/her Official Duty. His bail was set at $50,000.00. This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
