ACTNO. 8579 BILL NO. 34-0231 THIRTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2022 An Act renewing and extending the Declaration of a State of Emergency in the United States Virgin Islands based on the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic for an additional 30 days from April 10, 2022, to May 10, 2022 ---0--- WHEREAS, on March 13, 2020, the President of the United States of America, pursuant to Sections 201 and 301 of the National Emergencies Act, 50 U.S.C. §§ 1601, et. seg., and consistent with Section 1135 of the Social Security Act, as amended, 42 U.S.C. §§ 1320b-5, declared that the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak that began in the United States of America on January 20, 2020, constituted a national emergency; WHEREAS, on March 13, 2020, the President of the United States declared the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak a pandemic of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant an emergency declaration for all states, tribes, territories, and the District of Columbia pursuant to Section 501(b) of the Robert T. …
