RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT TO INCREASE THE ENROLLMENT OF OFF-ISLAND NON-RESIDENT STUDENTS BY APPROXIMATELY TWO HUNDRED. DRAFT - 02/16/98 WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is in need of a reliable recurring source of revenues to maintain the quality and vitality of its programs, and WHEREAS, the Territory of the Virgin Islands has been experiencing financial difficulties and has been unable to meet the revenue needs of UVI, and WHEREAS, it has been determined that tuition revenues are a viable source of recurring revenues, and WHEREAS, non-resident students pay three times the resident rate for undergraduate courses and twice the resident rate or graduate courses, and WHEREAS, the increased enrollment of non-resident students, currently constituting --- °% of the headcount enrollment, would also be beneficial by increasing the cultural diversity of UVI, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the President be authorized immediately to implement steps to increase the enrollment of non-resident stu …

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT TO INCREASE THE ENROLLMENT OF OFF-ISLAND NON-RESIDENT STUDENTS BY APPROXIMATELY TWO HUNDRED. DRAFT - 02/16/98 WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is in need of a reliable recurring source of revenues to maintain the quality and vitality of its programs, and WHEREAS, the Territory of the Virgin Islands has been experiencing financial difficulties and has been unable to meet the revenue needs of UVI, and WHEREAS, it has been determined that tuition revenues are a viable source of recurring revenues, and WHEREAS, non-resident students pay three times the resident rate for undergraduate courses and twice the resident rate or graduate courses, and WHEREAS, the increased enrollment of non-resident students, currently constituting --- °% of the headcount enrollment, would also be beneficial by increasing the cultural diversity of UVI, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the President be authorized immediately to implement steps to increase the enrollment of non-resident students by approximately 200 head count over the next two years and to sustain that level pending further action by the Board. The undersigned does hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of the Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands adopted at its meeting on March 14, 1998, and recorded in the minutes of said meeting.
